The mystical path of love

Sufism is a mystical path dedicated to cultivating love, serving others, and experiencing a profound sense of oneness with all existence. Its language emphasizes spiritual purification, mindfulness, remembrance, and service as a way of transformation.

The Nimatullahi Sufi Order

The Nimatullahi Sufi Order is a spiritual tradition dedicated to the unity of all beings and the selfless service of humanity through love and devotion. Tracing its origins to the 14th-century master Shah Nimatullah Wali of Iran, the Order has expanded worldwide, with Centers on five continents. Today, under the guidance of Dr. Alireza Nurbakhsh, it continues to emphasize meditation, remembrance, and service as the heart of the Sufi path.

Stylized Darvish meditating

Meditation (dhikr) Sessions

We meet twice weekly in Houston for group meditation (majlis). Attendance is by invitation, and we welcome sincere seekers who wish to learn about the Sufi path. Our Sufi Order focuses on silent meditation. During meditation, Dr. Alireza Nurbakhsh recommends focusing on the breath — breathing in Love and breathing out Compassion.

Community service at Houston pantry

Community Service

Service is a cornerstone of the Nimatullahi path. At the request of our Master, Dr. Alireza Nurbakhsh, every Center is asked to focus on alleviating hunger, especially among children. In Houston, we partner with a local food pantry to provide food to needy families as well as unhoused individuals in the Greater Houston area.
